Birth Doula | Childbirth Educator |
Yoga Instructor
Bonjour chers parents!

I'm Amélie, a French mother of two, birth doula, childbirth educator, and yoga instructor living in Reston, Virginia.
My passion lies in the connection between the body and mind, and in helping families approach pregnancy, birth, and parenthood with confidence, knowledge, and a sense of connection.
My path into this work began with my own experience of becoming a mother. Two very different births taught me just how much compassionate support, informed choices, and feeling truly heard can shape the experience of welcoming a baby.
Today, through Yoni Bandha, I bring those lessons into the care I offer other families.
My Journey Into Birth Work
Two Births, Two Very Different Experiences
In 2018, I moved to the United States, newly married and excited to start a family.
When I became pregnant with my first child, I hoped for a natural birth. But looking back, I realize how little I knew about the birth process, the choices available to me, and the support I could have received.
In August 2019, my water broke, and I welcomed my first baby in a hospital. Instead of feeling empowered by the experience, I left feeling small, confused, and unsupported.
The postpartum period brought its own challenges, including sleep deprivation and postpartum depression. During that time, I began searching for ways to reconnect with myself and find support.
I discovered a community of mothers through Fit4Mom, found encouragement in podcasts and education, and began to understand how movement, connection, and knowledge could change the way I experienced motherhood.
Two years later, I welcomed my second child at home, supported by my midwife. It was a very different experience, one in which I felt safe, informed, and deeply connected to my body and my baby.
That birth changed everything.
It inspired me to learn more about childbirth, prenatal and postpartum yoga, and haptonomy, a practice that encourages emotional connection between parents and their baby before birth.
What began as a personal journey gradually became my calling.
The Heart of My Work
Supporting Families Through Knowledge, Movement & Connection
I believe birth is not simply a physical event. It is an emotional and deeply personal experience that deserves care, respect, and thoughtful preparation.
My approach combines evidence-based childbirth education, emotional and physical support, movement, and connection.
As a doula, I strive to offer a calm and reassuring presence while helping families feel informed and supported in their decisions.
As a childbirth educator, I create space for questions, conversations, and practical preparation so parents can better understand their bodies, their options, and the birth process.
Through yoga, fitness, and prenatal bonding, I encourage parents to reconnect with their bodies and nurture their relationship with their babies.
There is no single right way to give birth. My role is not to tell you what your experience should look like, but to help you feel confident making the choices that are right for you and your family.
As a French mother who experienced pregnancy and birth in the United States, I also understand how unfamiliar the maternity system can feel when you're far from home. Supporting French-speaking families as they navigate that experience is especially meaningful to me.

Where You Can Find Me

A Little More About Me
Outside of my work, I'm a mother of two who loves spending time with family, building community, and exploring the world.
Travel has been an important part of our family's story, including an eight-month adventure through South America. These experiences continue to remind me of the value of curiosity, connection, and being present.
I also love supporting French-speaking families who are navigating pregnancy and birth in the United States. Being able to offer care in French and help families feel more at home within a different maternity system is especially meaningful to me.
